Tom and Nancy
have applied their knowledge, along with the experience of
ranch manager Clay Murdock, to transform Rancho San Miguel into one of the leading stallion
farms in California. Originally Rancho San Miguel was a training
facility in which Tom and Nancy were clients for 16 years.
During those years they both developed a close relationship with Clay Murdock and
called upon his expertise in the field. After purchasing the ranch they knew Clay was an asset to the industry
and promoted him to general manager. When purchasing Rancho
San Miguel, Tom and Nancy shifted the focus to the breeding
shed and producing high quality athletes to improve the California
racing industry.

The 250-acre ranch has lush irrigated pastures, a uniquely
designed nine-stall stallion barn, air-conditioned stalls for
sick animals, an on-site veterinarian, Dr. Joseph “Jake” Lynch,
and many other wonderful amenities
to provide quality care. Having an on-site veterinarian allows
Rancho San Miguel to provide immediate
attention to any problem that might arise on the farm. Padded
palpation shoots in the breeding shed insure
the safety of mares and foals. In addition to breeding, Rancho
San Miguel is dedicated to sales prepping,
foal handling, and caring for lay-ups. Sales horses are worked
daily on the euro-ciser and in the round pen
and diets are specially formulated for each individual animal.
Foals are handled in a gentle manner focusing
on trust and respect. (See Services)
Not only is Rancho San Miguel dedicated to providing outstanding
service but also quality stallions. The roster of stallions
standing at Rancho San Miguel represents the top-end of the
industry. Included in this roster are Roar, Marino Marini,
Formal Gold and Comic Strip. These stallions have been selected for their
excellence, both in bloodlines and performance. (See Stallions)
We guarantee only the best. Our deep passion, strong commitment,
and vast experience fulfill the highest expectations of our
clients and the industry. Rancho San Miguel simply defines
quality. |
